HTC Google Magic

HTC Google Magic

It was announced by Peter Chou, the head of Taiwanese communications giant HTC that they were looking to launch three new Google-phones by the end of 2009. The announcement was made public after they realized that the first ever Android qwerty cell phone – the Google G-1 Dream has turned out to be a smashing success. Despite of its modest looks, the phone is already dubbed the iPhone Killer.

Very soon, in the course of April 2009, HTC will launch their next Android attempt code-named Magic. The new gadget will not be exactly a qwerty cell phone, it will boast a large good quality touch-screen and some elegant white buttons. Sleeker and curvier this can really become a trend-setter in cell phone design this year.

As it stands now, only HTC has put an Android concept on a large-scale manufacturing. However, it is rumoured that HTC will soon lose its status as the only Android company. Many other manufacturers: Samsung, Garmin, Sony Ericsson and LG amongst others have mentioned that they would issue new qwerty cell phone models on Android basis in 2009. When it concerns LG, they say they’d match the milestone set by HTC and launch three Google-phones too.

Let’s see how much of it is just promises. We need new Google-phones to drive the price of the G1 down. We need them fast!
