Give up Your BlackBerry, Mr Obama!

Give up your BlackBerry, Mr Obama, you’re under a communication arrest! This is the sad truth Mr Obama will have to face in two months time after his inauguration ceremony. According to the Presidential Records Act he will have to put his correspondence, both personal and business, in the official record and give it up for public review. This is mostly due to safety issues, however, in the 21st century it is quite strange that the first man of the United States is deprived of such a necessary and useful way of communications.
George W Bush, when starting his presidency, had to give up his AOL e-mail address. The same fate awaits Obama. The main problem being that Obama is a real BlackBerry addict and it is not games and chat he’s doing on his BlackBerry. During his stressful presidency campaign, his BlackBerry was with him constantly. He received and sent important e-mails, edited his speeches and communicated with campaign coordinators. For a young and active person to lose his BlackBerry, must be a very sad moment.
It is likely that Obama will try to loosen the law to allow him to communicate. Basically, it is a breach of human rights because we all have a right to express ourselves freely. Why would the president need to be deprived of this right?
Nowadays, you cannot imagine a high-class executive to suffice without a smartphone. It is not a gadget of fashion any more. BlackBerry and other qwerty cell phones provide business minded people with much needed on-the-go communications. Fight, Obama!
