Fake BlackBerry Bold being Sold in USA

It is estimated that almost 500 fake BlackBerry Bold qwerty cell phones have been sold in USA since August 2008, when some websites in error announced that BlackBerry Bold was released. In fact it is not yet released! Not for America. So, if someone approaches you with an offer to sell you a Bold, run as fast as you can.

We were expecting to see the release some time in October but it looks like RIM, the company behind the magnificent qwerty cell phone, has decided to postpone the launch once again.

Looking for a real Blackberry? Try this:

The development of this device has been finished several months ago and although many test units of the special AT&T edition have been manufactured, none of them has hit the store shelves because of some mysterious OS problems.

Blackberry bold qwerty cell phone was planned for an exclusive distribution channel by AT&T, staff training in 40 USA States and corporate parties was planned and paid for. This situation only makes things worse for RIM, who already suffers from tumbling share prices.

Meanwhile fake Bold cell phones are being offered through Craigslist and Ebay. Prices $800 to 1300. Most likely it is a scam. You will either lose the money or receive a prop that’s been made in China and has nothing to do with Blackberry. Don’t do anything stupid, wait for the official launch!

If you are totally desperate, see if Rogers.com (based in Canada) can help you. They have this cell phone without contract for $649. However, before you do that, make sure you will get this phone to work with any of the U.S. networks.
