Do You Digg Google Qwerty Phone?
Google has just launched what may be regarded as the most clever development step that can be taken by a company. They’re going out openly asking the consumers: “What can we do to improve a cell phone?” The competitors are angry but that doesn’t matter. Many people will eagerly answer the questions because they like voting and taking part in polls, majority of people will give genuine answers.
As a result, we may see that the next qwerty phone by Google is much better than the HTC G1 currently offered through T-Mobile network.
The Product Idea voting system is similar to Digg interface – you are presented with a list of possible qwerty cell phone features and you either digg them or not. The best part of it is that you can suggest your own feature – like a feature request. Is there something missing on your current qwerty cell phone? Suggest it to Google and you may find the feature implemented in the next cell phone model you buy.
So what features do people want to see in their new qwerty phones? Many seem to mention Google Maps – it would be nice if they could speak and tell you the driving directions. Other people want to see their friends and relatives on Google Maps. Also, it would be nice to get Mobile Maps closer to the desktop applications, where you have full options of editing and changing your route. Many suggestions are placed regarding different sync and push-mail functionality. Many people request more features for handling and viewing their Gmail accounts.
It is not clear of when will we see the next qwerty cell phone by Google but it is clear that they are taking Android very seriously.
If you would like to take part in the Product Ideas poll and share your great ideas with Google, go to product suggestion page, sign in and start voting.
