BlackBerry AppWorld Teams up with PayPal
filed in BlackBerry Phone on Mar.10, 2009
RIM, the manufacturer of the famous BlackBerry qwerty phones has registered a new trademark BlackBerry AppWorld. It is the new official name for the dedicated online shop that will trade cool applications and mobile software solutions for Blackberry qwerty phones. Initially it was thought that the online store would bear a name of Application Storefront. Is it exciting enough? Obviously not, that’s why they decided to choose AppWorld as their new moniker.
The App World store will burst with solutions for your BlackBerry offering games, personal organizers, internet tools and much more. A dedicated app store is already in operation for iPhone and Android. It is extremely easy to get programs and tools for Palm and Symbian qwerty phones; a new store for Windows Mobile devices is due to open soon, too. Considering that BlackBerry is one of the most popular smartphone in the world, we can predict that the app store will be a major hit!
The mobile software store is due to open later this month (March, 2009). If you are keen on knowing the exact date, either follow my blog or visit AppWorld to sign up for their newsletter. Before you will be able to use this store in order to buy software for your BlackBerry, you’ll need a PayPal account. You can click here to obtain a PayPal account. This is another major breakthrough for PayPal, which is now backed and recognized by many multinational companies. However, this is probably the first time a large company like RIM chooses to pick PayPal as their ONLY accepted method of payment.
